Possum hair has a unique hollow structure that traps air and provides exceptional insulation properties. It also has no scales and is therefore silky soft to the touch. The addition of fine merino lambswool and mulberry silk gives the garments strength, extra warmth and silky softness.
The New Zealand possum was introduced to New Zealand from Australia in 1837.
